On Saturday, November 1, 19 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11234 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 30 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 citizens of Latvia wanted by the Police were detected
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Turkey and another one – for Great Britain, who are wanted by the Police, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, one – of Lithuania and one - of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female), departing for Turkey, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - three citizens of Estonia and one – of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, four – of Ukraine, three – of Kazakhstan, two – of Latvia, two – of Moldova, two – of Romania, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Serbia.
