Thursday, July 30, 17 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9009 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, during immigration control, one citizen of Bangladesh departing from Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged passport of Indian citizen and a forged Belgian residence permit, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated forusing forged documents.

at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus and one – of Lithuania due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Russia, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specify in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Terehova Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Russia, who was not in possession of notarized consent from at least one parent (EU citizen) for the child’s departure from the country, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons - two citizens of Russia, two – of Japan, one – of Estonia, one – of India, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Sweden.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Latvia, one – of Israel, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Montenegro, one - of Moldova, one – of Romania, one - of Tajikistan and one – of Germany.
