On 7 May 2026, the Motor Vehicle Crime Detection Awareness Session was held in the “Paternieki” 1st Category Border Crossing Point of the SBG Daugavpils Board, organised by Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency in cooperation with the State Border Guard of Latvia within the framework of the Frontex Contingent 7.
The aim of the Awareness Session was to update and improve knowledge, as well as to get acquainted with the latest trends in the field of motor vehicle crime detection.
The Awareness Session was attended by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia, as well as Frontex Standing Corps officers, who are deployed in the Frontex coordinated activities in the structural units of the State Border Guard of Latvia.
At the end of the Awareness Session, Frontex trainers highly appreciated the knowledge of the officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia in the field of motor vehicle crime detection, active participation and a level of the organisation.
Organisation of this type of training in Latvia promotes both the professional development of the officials and strengthens international cooperation, thereby promoting Latvia's contribution to the achievement of the European Union’s common security objectives.
