Title: "Language courses for employees of the State Border Guard involved in return sphere".

Project priority and activity:
Priority 4 of the 2010 Annual Program: "Support for the Union standards and best practices on return management".
Action 4.3.2 "Language courses for employees of the State Border Guard involved in return sphere".

 

Project implementation period: 01.12.2011 - 31.05.2012.

 

Project funding: financial resources allocated for the project - LVL 12 808.

Project overall objective: to encourage the development of cooperation with other state services to reduce time for the receipt of the information and decision making on foreigners who have violated conditions of entry and residence.

The project specific objective: to improve and enhance the SBG officials' knowledge of foreign languages relating to decision making on return issues of foreigners who have violated conditions of entry and residence.

Within the project the following activities are planned: to organize foreign language courses for 10 -18 SBG officials in Latvia.

As a result of project implementation:

  • the quality of consultations, provided after participation in the language courses by the officials, will be improved, rapid and efficient identification and return of illegal immigrants will be ensured, as well as cooperation with the competent authorities of third countries will be improved;
  • 10 - 18 SBG officials will improve their knowledge of foreign languages and will continue to use these improved knowledge, fulfilling their obligations on project completion; as well as they will be able to cooperate with services of other states and participate in encouraging the return procedure, carrying out development of return system.

Training will be conducted within the state budget and the resources of the European Return Fund Annual Program 2010. The establishment and enhancement of effective, stable and lasting cooperation between immigration services of Member States will be ensured.
