From 3 to 5 June 2025, the Occupational Safety and Health Support Officer of Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency Mr Jukka Tarkiainen visited the structural units of the Vilaka and Ludza Boards of the State Border Guard of Latvia.

The purpose of the visit was to get familiarize with the State Border Guard units where Standing Corps experts are deployed, assess the infrastructure, and evaluate occupational safety and health conditions at the service locations, in accordance with the established minimum safety and health requirements in workplaces.

During the visit, Jukka Tarkiainen discussed occupational safety and health conditions with representatives of the State Border Guard and Standing Corps experts. The Standing Corps experts generally expressed satisfaction with their working conditions in Latvia and highly appreciated the cooperation with the State Border Guard.

The Frontex representative commended the adherence to occupational safety and health requirements within the State Border Guard units and expressed gratitude for the support and responsiveness provided.
