From 29 July 2025 to 31 July 2025, training on the detection of stolen vehicles (hereinafter ‘the training’) was implemented at the Grebneva 1st Category Border Crossing point of the Ludza Board of the State Border Guard of Latvia.
The aim of the training was to improve knowledge on the detection of stolen vehicles and trends, as well as to share up-to-date information about the modus operandi of movement of the stolen vehicles and the technologies used.
The training was attended by the State Border Guard’s officials from the Ludza Board, Daugavpils Board and the State Border Guard College, as well as experts from the Frontex standing corps, who are deployed in the of the units of the State Border Guard of Latvia (Focal points). Within three days, the participants of the training had the opportunity to improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
At the end of the training, Frontex trainers highly appreciated the knowledge of the officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia and a high level of organisation.
Organisation of this type of training in Latvia promotes both the professional development of officials and strengthens international cooperation in detection and prevention of criminal offences in the field of stolen vehicles, thereby promoting Latvia's contribution to the achievement of the European Union’s common security objectives.
