On Sunday, September 7, 31 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9527 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, seven persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours. A total 22 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 29 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of, one – of Syria and one - of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
eight citizens of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Russia was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Israel, who did not have a notarized authorization from the other parent (a Latvian citizen, Latvian non-citizen, a citizen of a European Union Member State, a country of the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or a stateless person) for the child’s departure from the country, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Montenegro, who did not have notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s permanent departure from the country as well as one citizen of Latvia (female) leaving the country for Turkey, who was not in possession of valid travel document, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Estonia, one – of Moldova and one – of Sudan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Russia, three - of Latvia, three – of Belarus, two – of Moldova, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
