On Friday, September 5, 52 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9439 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Hungary, one – of Germany, one – of Belarus, one – of Ukraine and one - of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Terehova and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – one citizen of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Latvia, one – of Algeria, one – of Armenia, one – of Tajikistan and one - of Central Africa.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Moldova, three – of Latvia, three - of Russia, three – of Belarus, three – of Germany, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of France, one – of Italy, one – of Poland and one – of Serbia.
