Thursday, September 3, 18 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10577 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 12 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 wanted citizen of Latvia was detained
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Moldova and one - of Armenia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of Armenia was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Russia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia departing for Egypt, who was subject to a security measure - a ban on leaving the country, was detected. The person was prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – one citizen of Russia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Eritrea and one - of Pakistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two - of Lithuania, two – of Kyrgyzstan and one - of Latvia.
