On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 42 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

19 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to one foreigner

at the Airport “Riga” border control point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Jordan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his/her travel and stay. Person was returned to the country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners

at “Grebņeva”, “Terehova” and “Pāternieki” border control points, two citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Russia who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime) were detected. Proceedings in the case of administrative violations of citizens of Russia were not initiated; the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia

at the Airport „Riga” border control point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by five persons - two citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Romania, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Serbia, and one citizen of Germany.
