On Tuesday, September 2, 18 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9283 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Brazil, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Great Britain, as the foreigner was prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen area countries. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Belarus were detected at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Turkey, who was not in possession of valid travel document, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia, departing for Turkey, who did not have the other parent's (a citizen of Latvia, a non-citizen of Latvia, a citizen of a European Union Member State, a citizen of a European Economic Area country, a citizen of the Swiss Confederation or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or a stateless person) notarized consent for the child's departure from the country, was detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons – three citizens of Iran, two – of Tajikistan, two - of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia and one – of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, two – of Russia, two – of Romania, one – of Estonia, one – of Serbia, one - of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
