On Friday, September 12, 105 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9859 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 22 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 50 offenders at external borders and within the country. 24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Serbia leaving the Latvia with a goods vehicle and a trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Serbian driving licence, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the criminal proceedings.
- 1 citizen of Lithuania wanted by the Police was detected
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Lithuania leaving Latvia for Ireland, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Germany, two - of Russia, two – of Moldova and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, three – of Russia and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Belarus, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons – one citizen of Estonia and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Latvia, four - of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Italy, one – of Israel, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
