Tuesday, September 1, 45 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10481 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 16 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Russia due to security reasonsThe persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners

one citizen of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 7 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Belarus, two - of Lithuania, two – of Moldova and one - of Latvia.
