On Tuesday, October 7, border guards in Ludza Municipality detained a Russian citizen who had illegally crossed the State border from the Russian side.
After verifying the received information, border guards in Pasiene Parish detected a Russian citizen who had illegally crossed the State border from Russia. Upon inspecting the scene, it was found that a one-meter-wide section of the border fence mesh had been cut.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the person under Section 284(1) of the Criminal Law for the intentional illegal crossing of the external State border, as well as under Section 185(1) for the intentional damage to property of another.
