On November 21, 2023, border guards detained a citizen of Serbia for using forged documents.
At the Grebneva Border Control Point, border guards were carrying out check on a lorry leaving Latvia, and a driver of the lorry, a Serbian citizen born in 1980, presented to border guards a forged Serbian driving licence.
In accordance with Section 275(1) the Criminal Law, criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. After carrying out all the necessary criminal procedural actions, the criminal process was sent to the East Latgale Prosecutor's Office for the initiation of criminal prosecution.
By order of the East Latgale Prosecutor a fine in the amount of 1860 euros was applied to the offender for committing a criminal offense.
