On Wednesday, October 8, 38 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10462 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 25 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – five citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Moldova, five - of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, three – of Kazakhstan, two– of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
