On Saturday, October 4, 3 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10357 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 25 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 25 offenders at external borders and within the country. 22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Russia, two – of Moldova, two – of Belarus and one – of Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Russia and one – of Myanmar were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Russia, was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travelling to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – six citizens of Estonia, three - of Latvia and one – of Armenia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Moldova, four – of Belarus, four – of Serbia, three – of Romania, two – of Ukraine, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Slovenia and one – of Germany.
