On Monday, October 27, 34 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11108 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country. 24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner is subject to a ban on entering and residing in the Schengen area countries; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Russia, one – of Germany and one - of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
five citizens of Russia, three – of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 1 person - one citizen of Somali.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Moldova, one - of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of France, one – of Mongolia and one – of Ukraine.
