On Friday, October 24, 10 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11011 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country. 19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, es the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight citizens of Moldova, two – of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document). The person was subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - two citizens of Latvia, two – of Russia, one – of Uzbekistan and

one – of. Egypt.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Tajikistan, one – of Australia, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Romania, one – of Slovakia and one – of Germany.
