On Thursday, October 2, one person was stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10314 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 25 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 58 offenders at external borders and within the country. 30 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Pakistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven citizens of Belarus, two – of Romania, one – of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and two - of Russia were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the country was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia (female), leaving the country for Turkey, who was not in possession of an authorization from the other parent (a Latvian citizen) for the child to leave the country, as well as one citizen of Latvia, leaving the country for Turkey, who was prohibited from leaving the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – three citizens of Ethiopia, one – of Belarus, one – of India, one – of Yemen, one – of Somali and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, three - of Lithuania, two – of Estonia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Latvia and one – of Serbia.
