On Thursday, October 16, 46 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10826 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 53 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, Terehova and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purposes and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Germany, two - of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizens of Latvia, leaving the country for Georgia, who was not in possession of the notarized consent of at least one parent for the child's independent departure from the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 16 persons - nine citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Latvia, two - of Russia, one – of Eritrea, one – of Ethiopia and one – of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, five – of Moldova, two – of Germany, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Romania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Ukraine.
