On Monday, October 13, 30 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10654 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 26 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country. 25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as to four citizens of Belarus, one – of Moldova and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
three citizens of Georgia, two – of Russia and one - of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Terehova and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons – one citizen of Lithuania and one - of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three - of Moldova, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Croatia, one – of Poland and one – of Uzbekistan.
