On Sunday, November 9, 52 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11465 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 30 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country. 19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of India, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, one – of Germany and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travelling to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, four – of Romania, three – of Kazakhstan, two - of Serbia, two – of Ukraine, two – of China, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of Lithuania.
