On Friday, November 7, 11 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11413 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 30 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 28 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 15 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is subject to a ban on entry and stay in the Schengen area countries; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, three – of Russia, three – of Belarus and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Romania and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Great Britain, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Somalia, one – of Estonia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, four - of Moldova, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Romania, one - of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
