On Thursday, November 6, 73 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11402 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 30 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 23 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Belarus, two –of Moldova, one – of Ukraine and one – of Estonia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Moldova and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - four citizens of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, one – of Algeria, one – of India, one – Morocco and one – of Somalia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, two – of Serbia, one – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Moldova, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Sweden.
