On Sunday, November 30, 8 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11879 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 35 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Kyrgyzstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan and one - of Uzbekistan were detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 person
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for United Arab Emirates, whose travel document was not valid for travel to United Arab Emirates, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Estonia and one - of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, three - Kazakhstan, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two - of Moldova, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, and one – of Romania.
