On Monday, November 3, 8 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11282 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 30 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country. 22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, three – of Russia, three – of Belarus and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Russia and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Russia was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travelling to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - one citizen of Russia, one – of Algeria, one – of Armenia, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Moldova, three – of Uzbekistan, two - of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Serbia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Kyrgyzstan.
