On Saturday, November 29, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11871 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country. 15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Truck Trailer Technical Inspection Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners

at the Port of Riga and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners

two citizens of Kazakhstan and one - of Uzbekistan were detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 persons

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, seven minor citizens of Latvia departing for Turkey, who did not have a notarized power of attorney from at least one parent for the child's independent departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – three citizens of Estonia, two - of Ethiopia, two – of Latvia and one - of Germany.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Moldova, three – of Tajikistan, two – of Latvia, two – of Ukraine, two – of Uzbekistan, one - of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one - Kazakhstan, one – of Romania, and one – of Hungary.
