On Friday, November 28, 24 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11871 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country. 33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving the country, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Truck Trailer Technical Inspection Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Turkey, as the foreigner could not justify the purposes and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of USA and one – of Antigua and Barbuda, as the foreigners have already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; while at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of Moldova, one – of Georgia and one – of Czech Republic due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 11 foreigners
seven citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Tajikistan, one - of Moldova and one – of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Tajikistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – three citizens of Ukraine, two - of Tajikistan, two – of Morocco and one - of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two - of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one - Kazakhstan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
