On Tuesday, November 25, 14 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11804 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country. 17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 3 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving the country, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Truck Technical Inspection Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The Uzbekistan Truck Technical Inspection Certificate was seized. While at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point during immigration control, two citizens of Bangladesh leaving Latvia for Italy, who presented to border guards a forged passport of an Indian citizen and a forged Spain Residence Permit, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents and for concealing one’s personal identity.

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from Germany, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Sri Lanka, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Kazakhstan, one - of Germany, one – of Belarus and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Russia, one - of Uzbekistan and one – of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – three citizens India, one - of Russia and one - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Lithuania, three - of Belarus, two – of Ukraine, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Georgia, one - Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Moldova and one – of Germany.
