On Monday, November 24, 33 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11790 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country. 24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the “Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Moldova and one – of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purposes and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Russia, two – of Kazakhstan and one – of Tajikistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Tajikistan, one – of Great Britain and one - of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Turkey, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Turkey, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – two citizens of Russia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Lithuania, one - of Brazil and one - of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two - of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one - of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
