On Friday, November 21, 8 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11747 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 56 offenders at external borders and within the country. 25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted foreigner was detained
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Estonia entered Latvia from Egypt, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki and Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, two - of Russia and two – of Uzbekistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 non-citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one non-citizen of Latvia, departing for Ireland, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 15 persons – 10 citizens of Moldova, two – of Estonia, one – of Belarus, one – of India and one of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Serbia, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
