On Tuesday, November 18, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11723 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country. 6 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Germany and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for two persons – one citizen of Russia and one - of Somali.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, four – of Moldova, three – of Latvia, two - of Lithuania, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
