On Tuesday, November 11, 54 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11541 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 30 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Ukraine leaving the country, who presented to border guards a forged Ukrainian Vehicle Registration Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, one – of Russia, one – of Moldova and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Russia and one - Moldova were detected at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Russia was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - one citizen of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Brazil, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Moldova, five – of Belarus, one – of Croatia, one – of the Netherlands, one – of Romani, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
