On Sunday evening, October 6, an 87-year-old missing woman was found with the help of the State Police and the crew of the State Border Guard helicopter in Kolna Ančupāni District of Vērēmi Parish of Rēzekne Local Community.
At the request of the State Police, the border guards joined in the search activities of the missing woman with an "Agusta 109E Power" helicopter.
Upon receipt of information on the missing person and the search area, the helicopter crew began a search activities of the person and, after inspecting the area, roads, woods, fields and swamps within the territory of the Kolna Ančupāni District of Vērēmi Parish of Rēzekne Local Community, the person was found.
The helicopter crew, assessing the flight safety conditions and the location of the missing person, coordinated the actions of the State Police officers (search team) and gave instructions on where to proceed.
The helicopter crew continued coordination activities from the air until the State Police officers reached the missing person.
