On Wednesday, November 18, Interior Minister Sandis Ģirģens and Chief of the State Border Guard General Guntis Pujāts visited the structural units of the Daugavpils Board of the State Border Guard (SBG).
The Minister for the Interior and the Chief of the State Border Guard visited Piedruja Border Guarding Unit of the Daugavpils Board, the I Category Pāternieki Border Control Point and the Indra Border Crossing Point.
During the visit, the Minister together with the Chief of the State Border Guard carried out patrolling and surveillance along the River Daugava, as well as an inspection of certain sections of the green border. At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, the Minister got acquainted with service operational management and the course of modernization of the border control point, while at the Indra Border Crossing Point - with service operational management and the results of the fight against smuggling.
