On Friday, February 9, a meeting of the Latvian-Russian Border Working Group took place in Rēzekne District (Litavnieki). The meeting was held in accordance with the work of the Joint Working Group established in 1994.
The meetings of the Working Group are included in the "Cooperation Plan of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia and the Border Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Service for 2018 - 2019 years".
During the meeting the representatives from Latvian and Russian delegations evaluated the results of work of the Latvian-Russian Border Working Group in 2017, identified priority activities for 2018, exchanged the most up-to-date information on the situation at the state border and evaluated the results of the Joint Border Operation "KORDON-2017".
At the end of the event a minutes of the meeting of the Latvian-Russian Border Working Group was signed.
