Thursday, May 7, 141 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2507 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 50 offenders at external borders and within the country. 28 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with documents of another person was detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, during immigration control, one citizen of Somalia departing for Denmark, who presented to border guards an ID card of another citizen of Sweden, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for concealing one’s identity.
- 1 wanted person – a Latvian citizen was detained
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one Latvian citizen entered from Dutch, who is wanted by the police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Lithuania due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
seven citizens of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Russia was not initiated, the other parsons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, , who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent (ES citizen) for the child to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – one citizen of Russia, one – of India, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Belarus, two - of Kazakhstan, two – of Romania, two – of Germany, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Netherlands, one – of Sweden and one – of China.
