On Friday, May 3, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1646 persons have been stopped this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Kazakhstan entered Latvia, who presented to border guards forged Azerbaijan International Vehicle Insurance Policies, was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability, the forged documents were seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova due to security reasons. While at the Riga airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners

four citizens of Uzbekistan and two – of Georgia were detected at the Riga airport and Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

at the Riga airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female), departing for Great Britain without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons -  one citizen of Estonia, one - of Russia and one – of Lithuania.

 

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 13 citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, one – of Latvia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one - of Slovakia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
