On Saturday, May 24, 38 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3756 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with a heavy goods vehicle and a trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Roadworthiness Test Certificates, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged documents were seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; to one citizen of Georgia and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to two citizens of Belarus, one - of Russia and one – of Armenia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - two citizens of Russia, two – of Lithuania, one - of Azerbaijan, one – of India and one– of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, four - of Uzbekistan, two - of Lithuania, two – of Romania, one – of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Germany.
