Sunday, May 17, 85 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3373 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 24 offenders at external borders and within the country. 4 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner
at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The person was returned to the country of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document). The parson was subjected to administrative liability.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, four – of Latvia, three – of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Moldova and one – of Tajikistan.
