On Saturday, May 10, 73 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2871 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 1 person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 11 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country. 17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Serbia, two – of Russia, one – of Montenegro and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Moldova and one – of Georgia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the country was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Georgia, who was not in possession of a valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – four citizens of Estonia, two – of Russia and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, three – of Belarus, two – of Estonia, two – Romania, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
