Friday, March 6, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 29 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners  

 

at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; while at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is subject to a valid ban on entry into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area countries; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to to three citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners

one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons – four citizens of Lithuania, three – of Estonia, one – of Russia and one – of Latvia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, two – of Estonia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Romania, two – of Serbia, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kazakhstan, one - of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
