Tuesday, March 24, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 141 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country. 8 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 wanted non-citizen of Latvia was detained

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one non-citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from Hamburg, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was handed over to officials of the State Police.

 

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners

 

at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the Terehova Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the country was refused to one citizen of Belarus and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners

one citizen of Belarus and one - of Tajikistan were detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 11 persons – three citizens of Uzbekistan, three - of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one - of Afghanistan, one – of Bangladesh and one – of Mali.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Uzbekistan, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Serbia, two – of Tajikistan, one – of Italy, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova.
