Sunday, March 22, 1 person was stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 141 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country. 6 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners

 

at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia (female), as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid travel document for entry into the territory of the Schengen Area Countries; while a citizen of Belarus was refused entry due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Russia was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document). The person was subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two - of Russia, two – of Tajikistan, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Poland, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
