On Saturday, March 22, 2 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 289 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 7 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 person with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with a heavy goods vehicle, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan roadworthiness test certificates, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized within the framework of the administrative procedure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine, one – of Germany and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, leaving the country for London, who has been prohibited to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – four citizens of Estonia and three – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Moldova, three – of Lithuania, two – of Estonia, two – of Serbia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one - of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Germany.
