On Wednesday, March 19, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 255 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 7 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country. 21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Pakistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; while at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Moldova, three – of Ukraine and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, who was prohibited to leave the country, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Egypt, who was not in possession of valid travel document, as well as one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid to travel to Great Britain, were detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Russia and two – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, three – of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Ukraine, one - of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
