Wednesday, March 18, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 103 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Great Britain, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and two – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Russia was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 19 persons – ten citizens of Moldova, five – of Estonia, three – of Latvia and one – of Belarus.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Serbia, three – of Latvia, three – of Tajikistan, two – of Russia, two - of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, one = of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan and one – of Germany.
