Tuesday, March 17, 22 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 103 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Great Britain, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. The person was returned to the country of departure.

  • Uzturēšanās nosacījumu pārkāpumi konstatēti vienam ārzemniekam

Terehovas robežkontroles punktā konstatēts viens Krievijas pilsonis, kurš bija pārkāpuis uzturēšanās nosacījumus (nebija derīga ceļošanas dokumenta) Šengenas zonas valstīs. Persona saukta pie administratīvās atbildības.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

 

at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Belarus, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – one citizen of Estonia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Egypt.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Moldova, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Romania and one – of Germany.
