During the period of May 10-16, border guards detected more 22 persons, who presented to the border guards fake or such Covid-19 tests, which do not correspond to the samples available to the State Border Guard.

On Sunday, May 16, at the Riga Airport Border Control Point one Ukrainian citizen entered from Tallinn with a fake Covid-19 test was detected. While carrying out immigration control on the highway A7, the border guards in Brunava Parish, Bauska Municipality stopped a Ford Focus car, in which two Polish citizens were detected, and a moment later - a Volkswagen Kombi car, in which six Latvian citizens were detected. The persons presented to the border guards such Covid-19 tests which do not correspond to the samples available to the State Border Guard.

As well as on Saturday, May 15, one Lithuanian citizen with a fake Covid-19 test was detected during immigration control on the highway A11 in the Rucava Parish of the Rucava Municipality.

Record-keeping in an administrative violation matter was commenced against the Ukrainian citizen, other persons were fined in accordance with Section 3(1) of the Law on Administrative Penalties for Offences in the Field of Administration, Public Order, and Use of the Official Language: the Lithuanian citizen - with 500 euros, both Polish citizens - with 300 euros, three Latvian citizens - with 400 euros, but three Latvian citizens - with 100, 500 and 600 euros, respectively.

Several attempts to use fake Covid-19 tests also were identified in the working days of last week.

On Monday, May 10, at the Riga Airport Border Control Point one Latvian citizen entered from London was detected with a fake Covid-19 test. While carrying out immigration control on the highway A11 in the Rucava Parish two Lithuanian citizens with fake Covid-19 tests were detected. On the other hand, during immigration control on the motorway A1 in Ainaži, three Ukrainian citizens were detected, who presented to border guards Covid-19 tests, which do not correspond to the samples available to the State Border Guard. Record-keeping in an administrative violation matter was commenced against the Latvian citizen, both Lithuanian and three Ukrainian citizens were fined in accordance with the Section 3(1) of the Law on Administrative Penalties for Offences in the Field of Administration, Public Order, and Use of the Official Language - with 500 euros each. 

On Tuesday, May 11, while carrying out immigration control in the Ilūkste Parish, 2 Lithuanian citizens with fake Covid-19 tests were detected. Record-keeping in an administrative violation matter was commenced against the persons.

As well as on Friday, May 14, while carrying out immigration control on the highway A13 in the Medumi Parish of the Daugavpils Municipality 2 Lithuanian citizens and at the Riga Airport Border Control Point one Latvian citizen entered from London with fake Covid-19 tests were detected. While in the Rucava Parish of the Rucava Municipality a Lithuanian citizen with fake Covid-19 test was detected. Record-keeping in an administrative violation matter was commenced against one Latvian citizen, but the other 2 Latvian and 1 Lithuanian citizens were fined in accordance with the Section 3(1) of the Law on Administrative Penalties for Offences in the Field of Administration, Public Order, and Use of the Official Language - with 500 euros each.

In total, the border guards have already detected 91 person, who presented fake Covid-19 tests, which do not corresponding to the samples available to the State Border Guard.
